Product Overview

The quality and properties of peat depend on many factors:

  • Age of the bog
  • Botanical composition of the moss species
  • Degree of decomposition
  • Intensity of the drying process and the effects of frost
  • Type of preparation, fractionation and packaging

We distinguish the following categories:

  • White peat: Low to slightly decomposed, light color
  • Brown peat: Moderately decomposed, brown color
  • Black peat: Highly decomposed, dark to black color
  • Peat fibers: Sifted fibers
